So lemme put it plain and simple:
IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU WEAR, IT'S WHAT YOU DO.
It doesn't matter if you wear a suit or a tall tee; a tie or a grill. It doesn't matter how you look, where you're from, what school you go to, how much money you have, who your parents were, what kind of car you drive, if you're on welfare, if mommy and daddy bought you everything... etc.
The only thing that matters, ACTUALLY MATTERS in life, are the things you DO. If you're an anarchist, then you better be wearing a suit when you throw that molotov, because nobody will expect you to do it, or think to link it back to you when they're doing the investigation. If you're a graff writer, you're not wearing these $300 jeans you all seem to know about to go climb walls and spray bombs. A b-boy will NEVER wear skinny jeans to dance. An emcee won't wear a dress to perform a show (probably XD).
Personally, I'm not going to spend $300 or even $30 on a pair of jeans. I've been wearing the same jeans for 3 years. idgaf. My clothes don't define me. It's function over fashion. Now if I gotta look nice for a wedding or something, I'll go steal a suit from Penney's, just like I did when I was homeless. I work, just like Nimbus, but it doesn't cover the bills so I'm still on welfare (hey, why not live as much of a socialist life in a capitalist country as i can?). Does my clothing or my income stop me from making music? Shit no. I might not get an interview somewhere wearing my shell tops and tall tees, and on the flipside, the crowd didn't seem to like it when I wore 3-piece suits at my shows. Sometimes you have to dress up / down for certain things. But in day to day life, it doesn't matter what you wear. It's who you are as a person. (As cliche as that might sound)
So let's put it into persepective here:
We're all musicians. We make hip hop music that we think is pretty pro. BUT nobody on here is internationally famous. Nobody here has won a grammy. Nobody's gone platinum. We showcase our talent on the INTERNET.
I personally do shows, but I don't know how many of y'all do. Does it matter? No. You make music I like (or at least respect). You're doing something.
Are we all going to squabble about what somebody else wears? The majority of NG hates us already. Do we really need to start hating each other?
